Who Am I?
                   An Almost Manifesto

Stay alive, choose your shirt and carry on!

"Who Am I?" is an introspective and socially engaged exploration of identity, memory, and belonging. Through The Shirt project, I use the symbolic weight of fabric—particularly the references to the Shroud—as a vessel for personal and collective histories. A shroud, traditionally associated with mourning and transition, becomes more than just cloth; it is a silent witness, absorbing thoughts, emotions, pains, pleasures and personal histories.
The shirt, both white and coloured, carries echoes of my childhood and country of origin. It is an intimate, yet universal object in its significance, representing not just an individual past but a shared cultural memory. By intertwining personal narratives with broader existential questions, I seek to unravel the complexities of identity in the 21st century.
Who am I? Who are we all? These questions transcend personal introspection and extend to the shifting landscapes of nationality, gender, race, and religion. In a world marked by uncertainty and division, these inquiries feel more urgent than ever. As social and political tensions rise, the project reflects on the fragility of our constructed identities and the need for solidarity, understanding, and mutual tolerance.
Is this our last shirt—a symbol of finality, of end of humankind? Or does it serve as a call for reflection and action, urging us to support one another and persevere  in mutual efforts? Through this work, I invite both myself and the viewer to confront these questions and to interrogate our present reality.
